Description

This herd has been farmed at altitude in a high rainfall area and will shift well.

System 3 with some in shed feed but primarily grass based.

The vendors have been focused on breeding with particular attention to the conformation and balance of the cow.

Key points at bull selection time are Type, Production, Dairy Conformation, Capacity, Longevity and a very high threshold with respect to Udder Structure.

A Sirematch Breeding Programme was used for the last 7 years to match the best possible bull to improve on the dam where possible, with only Nominated Crv Ambreed Sires used.

Only straight breeds were used (Jersey , Friesian) to gain a consistently powerful and robust cow for their farming system.

The Jersey cows are a beautiful example of what can be done when a focus on the physical traits is realized. They don’t look out of place at all among the darker breeds and they are more than competing.
